William Petterson

 William "Willie" Benjamin Petterson, 56 of Fargo, Villa Maria, died on Saturday, March 13, 2010.  Willie was born on November 9, 1953 to Walter Benjamin Petterson and Madel Ruth (Reiche) Petterson in Bismarck, North Dakota.

 Willie grew up in Bismarck, attended Richholt Elementary and graduated from Bismarck High in 1971.  During high school, Willie excelled in Spanish, French and English languages.  He enjoyed playing neighborhood football, basketball and horseshoes.  Willie was exceptional at keeping statistical scores in the complicated games of StratoMatic baseball and football.  Another activity Willie enjoyed was walking.  He would walk from one end of town to the other and turn around and do it again.  Not quite as extensive as "Forrest Gump" but a close second.

  Willie is survived by his sisters, Ruth (Larry) Carlson of Argusville, ND and Rachel (Steve) Gums of Fargo; nieces, Renee (Royce) Nelson of Bismarck, ND and Rebecca (Ron) Lawler of Fargo; 3 great nieces, Rachel Reidman of Fargo, Devon Lawler of Fargo, Rochelle Nelson of Bismarck and 1 great nephew, Sean Lawler of Fargo.  He is also survived by his lifelong childhood friend, Joey Hendrickson of Colorado Springs, CO. Willie was preceded in death by his parents.
