William O. Rose Sr., 74, Ayr, North Dakota, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 13, 2004.
He was born on May 31, 1929 on the homestead farm at Ayr, ND. He was the son of Ogden and Hazel (Conklin) Rose. He attended school at Ayr and graduated from High School in 1948. He was active in 4-H and farm organizations. He attended Ellendale College, Ellendale, ND and also attended several agricultural short courses at NDSU. Bill attended Graham Veterinary School at New Prague, MN to enhance his cattle operations. He assisted his father on the farm until 1958 when he took over the operation. William married Mary Helen Paintner at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Moorhead, MN on January 18, 1958. He was an active member of St. Mary?s Cathedral of Fargo, ND.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; five sons , William Jr., Ayr, ND. , James, Bloomington, MN. , Timothy, Ayr, ND., Joseph(Shelly), Monticello, MN. , Charles, Davenport, ND.; two daughters, Mary Beth (Roger) Thompson, Albuquerque, NM and Kathleen(Darrel) Hegar, Highlands Ranch, Co. He is also survived by one brother Frank (Judy), Watkins, MN. and one sister Lois Brewer, Moorhead, MN., nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a deep faith and a big heart. He was never afraid to show his emotions of love even to strangers. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Paul Joseph. We know he is in heaven looking down on us and holding his beloved son, Paul. We are so thankful for wonderful memories.
Visitation: Monday 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Boulger Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
Funeral Mass: 12:00 noon on Tuesday, Feb. 17th in St. Mary?s Cathedral, Fargo, ND
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
