Willis Peterson

Willis Paul Peterson, Fargo, formerly Verona, ND, died Monday, August 16, 2004 in Innovis Hospital. He was born in Fargo, ND on October 31, 1921 to Arthur and Adeline (Lemna) Peterson. He graduated from high school in Verona, ND in 1939 and attended North Dakota State Agricultural College. He farmed on his parents farm near Verona. Willis and Helen Johnson were married in Verona on June 23, 1942. They farmed until 1964. In 1970 they moved to Fargo. He began working at Northern Improvement Company in Fargo. He retired from Northern Improvement in 1986 and was a member of St. Mary?s Cathedral. He did volunteer work for the North Dakota Election Board. Willis loved carpentry and his family believed there was nothing he couldn?t fix or build. He was a very patient and generous person. He is survived by his wife, Helen of 62 years; two sons and four daughters: Bonnie (James) Magill, Verona, ND, Cheryl (Terry) Jenkins, Dickinson, ND, Steve (Becky) Peterson, Hannaford, ND, Debbie (Rodney) Gentzkow, LaMoure, ND, Kathy (Fred) Nesemeier, Fargo, ND, and James (Patty) Peterson, Lisbon, ND; 19 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; 1 brother, Richard (Evon) Peterson, Moorhead, MN; 1 aunt, Isabel Mische of Fargo and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clifford and Russell. Visitation: Thursday, August 19, 2004 from 4-7 p.m. - Boulger Funeral Home and one hour prior to Mass at the church.
