Wilma L. Boeder, 83, Fargo, ND, formerly Hope, ND passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN surrounded by her family.

Wilma was born May 19, 1931 in Clifford, ND to Isaac and Fern (Umsted) Elston. She graduated from Hope High School as Valedictorian in 1949. She was active in music and athletics in High School, including basketball and softball. She attended and received her teaching certificate from Valley City State Teachers College in 1950. She married Donald Boeder on June 29, 1950 at the Methodist Church in Hope, ND. They made their home on the farm north of Hope for 60 years.

Wilma was very active in her church and community, serving as the church organist for many years.  She helped in all aspects of work on the farm and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Wilma and Don spent many winters in Arizona and moved to Fargo in 2011.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald; children, Barbara (Clint) Lonbaken, Fargo, ND, Richard (Linda) Boeder, Sioux Falls, SD, Colby (girlfriend Janelle) Boeder, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Alex and Nick Thompson, Christina (Tony) Burggraff, Melissa (Matt) Schmidt, Amanda (Broc) Giffey, Laura (Dan) Shields; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Carl Elston, Carol Dorrance and Janet Kainz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Orville “Pete” Elston.

Memorials are preferred to Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.
