yvette (cossette) stalcup
Yvette passed quietly on the morning of November 17, 2016 at the age of 92 after battling multiple complications associated with heart disease. Yvette was born on February 3, 1924 and was one of nine children born to Cecil and Julien Cossette. Yvette grew up on the family farm and attended St. Josephs Academy School at St. Benedicts of Wild Rice, ND. Following graduation Yvette moved into Fargo to attend Interstate Business College. While she attended school, she worked as a nanny for local area families. Upon graduation Yvette began her career at Western States Life Insurance Company where she worked until her retirement. While working at Western States Like Insurance Company, Yvette was afforded the position of first female assistant vice president of Human Resources with the company, a title of which she was very proud. Yvette loved her home in South Fargo. She loved the natural beauty of the surrounding woods and the flowing river. She enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table looking out her window at the hummingbirds that would gather at the feeder. She loved attending to her flower beds and the yearly task of fending off the deer that loved to eat her flowers. She was an avid gardener and a voracious reader. Yvette is survived by her children; Kimberly (Stalcup) Braack of Westcliffe, CO. and Robert Stalcup of West Fargo, ND. She is also survived by her brother Ivan (Bud) Cossette of Fargo, ND. She is preceded in death by her husband Claude Stalcup, her son Mark Stalcup, her grandson Zachery Stalcup, her sisters Dorothy (Cossette) Knight, Ilene (Cossette) Adsero and her brothers Reynold Cossette, Wallace Cossette, Roger Cossette, Daniel Cossette and Allyn Cossette. Yvette's family would like to thank all of the Nurses and Doctors at Sanford Medical Center for their tireless efforts and understanding in the efforts put forth to make Yvette as comfortable as possible in   her final days.
