Obituary

Chris Hettervig, 71, died December 27, 2014. He was born February 26, 1943 to Christ and Agnes Hettervig in Hillsboro, ND.

He grew up on the family farm and remained there until his health caused him to move to Hillsboro. He married Kathy Meland and they had 3 children, Tammy, Robert and Angie.

He attended the rural Herberg School, Halstad High School and Crookston A.C. Ag program. He farmed with his family, raising grains, hay, hogs, and cattle. As a younger man he enjoyed fast cars and snowmobiling. Chris truly loved tending for livestock and all work it entailed. He was happiest when he could spend time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Tammy (Scott) Knutson; son, Robert (Roberta) Hettervig; daughter, Angie (Jeremy) Thornton; sister, Audrey Knudson; grandchildren, Kate (Andy) Payne, Paige Johnson, Madison Thornton, Ross Hettervig, and David Knutson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alice; and brother, Leroy.
