Chris Hettervig, 71, died December 27, 2014. He was born February 26, 1943 to Christ and Agnes Hettervig in Hillsboro, ND.

He grew up on the family farm and remained there until his health caused him to move to Hillsboro. He married Kathy Meland and they had 3 children, Tammy, Robert and Angie.

He attended the rural Herberg School, Halstad High School and Crookston A.C. Ag program. He farmed with his family, raising grains, hay, hogs, and cattle. As a younger man he enjoyed fast cars and snowmobiling. Chris truly loved tending for livestock and all work it entailed. He was happiest when he could spend time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Tammy (Scott) Knutson; son, Robert (Roberta) Hettervig; daughter, Angie (Jeremy) Thornton; sister, Audrey Knudson; grandchildren, Kate (Andy) Payne, Paige Johnson, Madison Thornton, Ross Hettervig, and David Knutson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alice; and brother, Leroy.

    I have so many awesome memories of Chris..he would always visit with me when i would be at the Hettervig Farm with Angie, and this was quite often as Angie and I were the best of friends in High School and now too! Chris will be so missed-but always remembered…he was a great person!God Bless the Hettervig family through this tough time….Love you all!

These are the things we “WANT” to remember, as we move on with our lives in a very fastchangeing world!!!! Bobbie, one of the special kids i taught in sunday school was “YOU”!!!! u were so quiet & FUN to teach BECAUSE I CAN NEVER REMEMBER A TIME I CALLED ON U that u DID NOT KNOW THE ANSWER, & sometimes a BETTER answer than EVEN I as a teacher could explain some of those “BIBLICAL NAMES”!!!!!!!!!! Hugs for all your family that i remember walking all the way to the wood bridge west of the HERBERG SCHOOL!!!!!!!Dale & Carol Stenerson PS i c in researching my Lyng/Stenerson archives, that my GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER, Johhanes & Olivia Lyng that homesteaded on the 28 accres next to u,owened that 80 & probably TRADED IT 4 the 157 acres in sec 14, herberg twp?????????
