Deb Baumbach

deb baumbach

On April 18, 2010, two angels ascended to the Lord and are with him in Paradise.

Rob and Deb Baumbach were united in marriage on July 15, 1988, soul mates from beginning to end.  Wherever they went and whoever they met, they never met an enemy and always made new friends.  To this wonderful marriage and friendship, two sons were born.  Jory and Nick were the biggest joy to Rob and Deb.  Deb always wanted one more day to cuddle them and kiss them up, but as kids do, they grew up and Rob and Deb reveled in watching and participating in their adventures.  They made sure that they all had lifelong memories in the trips they took, the meals they ate, and the games they played together.  Everyone that walked through their door was a friend forever.

Rob and Deb worked, together, at Federal Express.  Rob was a courier and Deb a service agent.  Rob also worked, in the past, as a diesel mechanic and you could find him most weekends in the garage working on either his cars or a friend's car.  Never one to say no, he fixed many a car.  Deb also worked as a church secretary at Peace Lutheran and then at Faith Lutheran in West Fargo.  Rob and Deb made sure that anyone that needed a ride to church got it, whether they drove themselves or contacted someone else to help.

Surviving Rob and Deb are sons, Jordell Robert (and special friend, Jessica) and Nickolas Jorge, both of Fargo; Deb's parents, Robert and Diane Morgan, Sioux Falls, SD; sisters, Angie (Marty) Mixell, Sauk Rapids, MN and Niki  Anderson(and special friend Tom); Kevin Anderson, Colton, SD.  Deb's brothers, Mike (Fay) Morgan, Pipestone SD and Todd (Sally) Morgan, Pipestone;  Rob's mother, Ally (Pete) Haluska, Harvey, ND; brother, Kevin (Diane) Baumbach, Emerado, ND.  Nephews:  Dustin Baumbach, Oakes, ND, Wayne Baumbach, Fargo, ND, Brandon Baumbach, Minneapolis, MN, Derek Anderson, Colton, SD, Alex Anderson, Colton, SD, Taylor Mixell, Sauk Rapids, MN and Brandon Mixell, Sauk Rapids, MN. Also numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and lifelong friends.

  1. Hudson WIDear Angie and Niki,

    Your Sister’s Love-

Feel her gentle presence with you today, holding your hand, drying your tears, helping you through. Honoring your sister’s spirit, wishing you comfort and peace.

    Dear Jordell and Nickolas,

    Your Mother’s Love-

May the quiet places of your heart be filled with sweet echoes of your mom’s love.

    Blessings,

    Dennis and Mary (Isaacson) Grosenick

  2. Hudson WI Dear Diane,

I wish that I might say one liquid word to make your sorrow less.

Tonight, when I read the tragic news of Deb’s death (and Rob’s death) in the April 27, 2010 edition of The Valley News, I was beyond stunned and deeply saddened.

The loss of a child, they say, is just not the right order of things.

But sometimes “just” is not the way things go. When something so profoundly happens to a family, it can happen to each person quite differently. Each experiences and reacts to it differently and the one thing that connects your family is the identical gaping holes in your hearts.

It’s so hard to lose someone you love, especially when it happens so unexpectedly. Whether sudden or expected, the shock of death is the same the shock of finality. May it help a little to know that you and your family are in so many thoughts and prayers.

As the children’s caregiver, you, Nick, Deb, Angie, and Niki touched my life so many years ago. I hope that my caring can cross the miles that separate us and fill a special corner in your heart with peace.

In the quiet moments may good memories find you and bring you peace.

I pray that through all of your loss, you can find peace in God’s promises of joy on the “other side.”

Where there is sorrow, love comforts, where there is silence, love speaks, while we are hoping, love endures.

    Blessings,
    Mary (Isaacson) Grosenick

  3. St. Paul MN
I was deeply saddened hearing about this. When I was a little girl, Deb was my very first friend in Browns Valley, MN
. She moved when I was 8 years old and we have remained in contact ever since. Even though contact dwindled to annual correspondence at Christmas time, I always looked forward to Deb’s handwritten letters and photos of her family. I only met Rob once, but he seemed like a nice man. My heart goes out to Rob and Deb’s family members.

    Sincerely,
Ann and Steve Fulin of St. Paul.

  4. St. Paul MN
Deb and I were childhood friends when she lived in Browns Valley, MN
. I’ve always considered her my first friend. She moved away when I was 8 years old and have remained connected ever since. Even though contact dwindled to annual Christmas cards, I always looked forward to her handwritten letters and pictures of her family each year. It’s hard to believe she is gone. My deepest sympathy to the family.

  5. Fargo ND
I (Kevin) worked with Deb and Rob for 19 years at FedEx. Deb was a customer service agent. Deb is a beautiful woman, and smart. I know this because if I was ever stumped on a certain procedure, Deb always had the answer. She was a major part of that “glue” that held our station together. Deb was my FedEx “sister” and like the song says…”Till we meet again.”

  6. Plymouth MN

My heart and prayers go out to the families of Rob and Deb. There is so much I am going to miss. It’s so hard to let go of someone so young, caring, full of life. The 18 yrs we worked side by side were so great. Our FedEx get togethers after I retired were so full of catching up. I will certainly miss them and when the rest of us get together it will never be the same. Til we meet again.

  8. Sioux Falls SDAnyone who knew Deb will never forget that beautiful smile she always had! Deb was an awesome woman who had a heart of gold. My prayers go out to the whole family and very close friends who are going to miss her so terribly. Only the grace of God will get us through this terrible tragedy. Jan Gross

  12. Fargo ND
Deb & Rob were dear friends, from church and Deb from book club. She’s been coming over to help me with unpacking, doing stuff, borrowing books. She was here last Thursday and we talked on Sat. I didn’t make it to the visitation and prayer service tonight but will be at the funeral – with lots of Kleenex!

    It doesn’t seem real, yet.
When they lived on 8th St. I lived just a couple of blocks away on 9th St.

  14. I was a high school classmate and even though we had lost touch over the years since graduation, I was so happy to reconnect with Deb over Facebook. I remember her as an amazing and free thinker. She could defend her own opinions at such a young age. I admired that incredibly.
I am very sorry for the loss of her life

I am so sorry for your loss.Deb and Rob were a very special couple. No matter who you were or how well you knew them, they always welcomed you with open arms. They were a true blessing to alot of people. God be with the family and friends of both of these angels.

  17. They will be greatly missed. Working with both Rob and Deb I will have fond memories of the time we worked together. Deb was always supportive of decisions and mistakes I made as a new manager. Rob was always there for support, even if he didn’t agree. They were people that gave rather than take and we on earth are loosing rather than gaining.

Rob and Deb will be greatly missed by so many including their extremely loving family and lifelong friends.

I met Rob and Deb through their very great friends Tiffany and Jeremy and know that they and their other friends and family have angels watching over them now to help everyone who is sad and hurt about this unfortunate tragedy.

May gods arms be wrapped around then for how ever long it takes. There is a long road ahead and everyone is in my thoughts and prayers!

  21. Halfmoon Bay, Stewart Island New ZealandHow tragic that Deb’s life should end so sudden. She was a wonderful lady with a heart of gold. I remember so many times she cared for a mutual friend and church member, Dorothy M., and helped in so many ways.

I’ve since married and moved to New Zealand, but I will always remember Deb’s smile and willingness to help.

My thoughts and prayers to the children, family and friends at this very sad time.

Rob and Deb were exceptional people, and an exceptional couple, and they will be missed.
