Gillette WYI will always remember Aunt Gerty and her contagious laugh. She welcomed me into this family when I married Bill. We had many great meals at her place and as everyone else said, she made many great desserts. she was a wonderful woman who found only the best in everyone. She will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. My thoughts are with you all.

I was very sorry to hear of Gertie’s passing. She was a very nice lady. Many of my fond memories from my high school days were at the Mueller farm spent with Robin & Mom Gertie. We used to do alot of horseback riding & just hanging out. Gertie would get a kick out of our “adventures”. We also used to spend alot of birthdays & anniversaries there with Herb & Gertie & different neighbors with my Dad, too. Always had some great lunches! In fact, I use Gertie’s Cheese Button recipe to this day! May she rest in peace.

    Her Journey’s Just Begun

Don’t think of her as gone away –
    Her journey has just begun
    Life holds many facets
    The Earth is only one
Just think of her as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years
Think how she must be wishing
    That we could know today
    How nothing but our sadness
    can really pass away
And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost-
And she was loved so much.

    Upland CaliforniaAunt Gertie,
Will remember all the family visits while growing up, especially the kindness and laughter. She even shared her lunch during a visit last summer. She said she couldn’t eat it all and didn’t want it to go to waste….I just couldn’t say no. Our thoughts are with Ricky & Ronny and Cheryl & Robin and their families.

RIO RANCHO NM I AM TRULY GREATFUL FOR THE KINDNESS YOUR PARENTS SHOWED ME BY ALLOWING ME TO STAY WITH THEM AT THEIR FARM DURING PART OF THE SUMMER MY DAD WAS STATIONED IN KOREA. THEY TAUGHT ME HOW TO DRIVE A TRACTOR, ABOUT THE AMINALS ON THE FARM AND TOOK ME TO THE WISHEK COUNTY FAIR WHERE YOUR MOM ATTEMPTED TO TEACH ME HOW TO WALTZ AND POKA, TELLING ME THAT I COULD DATE ANY GIRL I WANTED TO IF I COULD DANCE WELL.
THE HORSECOLLAR MIRROR IN MY HOUSE THAT YOUR FATHER MADE MAKES ME THINK OF YOUR PARENTS OFTEN. YOUR MOTHER WAS A VERY KIND, LOVELY AND CLASSY WOMAN, WHO MADE WHO BRIGHTENED THE WORLD OF EVERY SOUL THAT SHE TOUCHED. SHE IS IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.

I cherish the many memories I have of this wonderful, warm, gracious woman. She was a great cook, but she was excellent baker – her brownies and cakes were the best! In addition to that , she was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I am blessed to have known her as Aunt Gerty.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
