  6. Eau Claire WI As a graduating classmate of Lowell’s from GHS in 1978, I was deeply saddened to hear about his passing. It seems life is alway cut too short and we’re never ready for it. While it’s been awhile since Ive seen Lowell, it is evident from the obituary that he lived life fully and was blessed with family and frends. The fact that ithe obituary speaks so much to his desire to serve and help others speaks volumns about the type of man he was. My sincere sympathy to his entire family for their great loss…Hold fast to the knowledge that frends, family and above all, God is with you and will see you through this very difficult time.

  7. I want to take this time to say “Thanks” to all who have left words of sympathy for my brother Lowell. It was wonderful to see so many of his family and friends at the prayer service and funeral. I want to thank Boulger Funeral Home for the marvelous website you have here.

I have no idea where Shawn and Misty Gibree are from, but my heart goes out to the two of you. Lowell was doing what he seemed to do best and that is help out in a time of need. Thank you both for your caring words.

God bless you both and your children

Lowell, best known to me as “Boze” or as I nicknamed you “Big Cat”. I had the pleasure of knowing you first as a co-employee, then as a friend, and last as a customer of mine. You were the best I had in all three regards. I was blessed to have you as a friend first and foremost. You always saw the bright side of things, this was best reflected in your laugh and of course your smile. They were both one of a kind. You are now making things better from up above for all of us and those up there too. You are a true hero Lowell. I will miss you dearly, but you will never be forgotten. Hope many more follow your lead, friend.

    Your friend forever,

Lowell was truely a wonderful man. He was honest, giving and always had a genuine smile. We had the greatest pleasure working with him. He was one of our favorite drivers! While he was at UMTAC Leasing, he befriended many people, including took the hearts of some young boys whom washed & cleaned your truck. They miss you too! They will never forget the respect Lowell gave them. We know that Lowell will always have a special place in our hearts.

    Julie,
We were very saddened to hear about Lowell. Roger and I often talk about you guys and wonder how you are doing and what kind of fun your having now. It was always so fun to see you guys and chit chat about fishing, four wheeling and things going on. Hearing what Lowell had done was no surprise as that was just the kind of man he was and always had a smile on his face and a great laugh. Whenever or wherever you saw him, he was glad to see you. He will always be remembered as a hero and what a great legacy he left for you and the family. Times ahead will be tough and just know that you have alot of friends that love you and are here to help with anything you need. Life is a dance and you and Lowell danced it well! Our deepest sympathy for your loss. Big hugs dear Julie!

I never knew Lowell Balk but when i read how he died i had to sign his book. What a HERO he was getting out of his truck to help someone else. Not many people would’ve done this and i feel so bad for his wife of 18 years (Julie)

I only hope she can hold onto the fact that he was a very brave man and knowing that his organs are going to other people to help them live long lives will hopefully bring Julie some peace.

God Bless the family of Lowell Balk.
