Sharon Mae Maurer, age 74, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2020, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo ND. She was born on April 27, 1945 in Britton SD to Walter and Stella Nelson of Cayuga ND. Sharon graduated from Sargent Central High School in Foreman ND in 1963. Sherelocated to Fargo in 1964 and married John A Maurer on June 26, 1965. Sharon touched many lives with her love and generosity. She enjoyed working and “visiting” with customers at multiple drugs stores in Fargo throughout her career. She loved spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with her loving husband John. Sharon will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a dear friend to many. She will be greatly missed. Sharon is survived by Husband John; Son, John C (Kali), grandchildren Bo and Cooper, Saint Paul, MN; Son-in-Law Joe Knudson, grandchildren Sam and Max, Coon Rapids MN; Sister, Shirley Thompson, Grand Forks; Sister, Kay (Harry) Erickson, Cedar, MN; Sister-in-law Revenia Nelson, Lidgerwood ND; Sister-in-Law Doris Nelson, St. Louis Park, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Stella Nelson; Daughter, Jodi Knudson; Brothers, Willmar, Emmeth, Clifford, Donald, Walt; Sisters, Evelyn Nelson, Vivian Nelson; Sisters and Brother-in –laws, Jeanette and Clarence Busch, Betty and Art Erickson, Marion and Victor Velek, Eleanor and Ed Kreklau, Jill and Roy Glarum, Donna and Morris Christenson, Maurine and John Fulmer; Brother- in-law Dwayne Thompson; and nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held in Fargo ND at Boulger Funeral home, on Friday February 7. Visitation starts at 2pm and services start at 3pm. No flowers are preferred.

  8. John and JC our hearts are broken for you. I wish I could have talked with her one last time. She was like a ray of sunshine and we often talk about our visits with you all. Heaven sure gained one more angel . Gary will give you a call after you have time to rest. He is in the hospital with pneumonia right now.   13. I send our sympathy to you. Sharon’s dad, Walter was a cousin of my dad, Axel Nelson. I attended Rutland Consolidated with many of Sharon’s siblings….Donna, Donald, Maurine, Walter, and Deanna and Sharon was the age of my brothers, Doc, Turk, Cliff, and Dennis.
    We will give a donation in Sharon’s memory to the little country South Trinity Cemetery Upkeep fund where Walter and Stella and several of their family are buried.. our cemetery is financially struggling to keep sufficient funds for the mowing. Blessings.

  14. Auntie Sharon. The youngest of all children from Stella and Walter Nelson. My heart goes out to Uncle John and family. She was one of my Cool and awesome aunts. She has been and always will be in my heart with all the memories to boot. I feel like the lucky one to have me as her family. God bless all, may the angels hold all who need the extra strength to get through these tuff times.

    No more pain, family will welcome Sharon to the gates of heaven. With no doubt that Jodi will be standing before all others.
