Peter E. Locken, age 94, of Fargo – formerly of Aneta, ND, passed away on Sunday, Mach 21, 2021 at Bethany on 42nd, surrounded by his family, and under the care of Ethos Hospice. Peter Edward Locken Jr was born on September 8, 1926, the son of Peter and Johanne (Fjogstad) Locken in McVille, ND. He grew up in Aneta, ND and received his education, graduating from Aneta High School in 1945. He proudly served his county in the United States Army. Following his discharge in 1946, he returned to Aneta and began a career in carpentry in the area. Later he worked on the construction of large projects in North Dakota such as the Grand Forks Air Force base, and the Antiballistic Missile facility in Nekoma. His work also took him to building of the radar station in Thule, Greenland, and large projects in Tennessee, and Texas. After retiring from carpentry, he farmed with his nephew Rick Thompson in the Aneta area. Peter was united in marriage to AnnaLea DuBord on March 15, 1986 – they just celebrated 35 wonderful years together. During their marriage they enjoyed spending summers at Eagle Lake and winters in Harlington, Texas for over 20 years. Peter was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Fargo and the Carpenters Union, a lifelong member of the ELKS and the Aneta American Legion, and longtime member of the Sons of Norway. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, AnnaLea Locken; his step-daughters, Annette (Cameron) and Nancy (Dana); and his grandson, Lars. Also surviving are his sister, Anez Thompson; brother-in-law, Bill Mueller; nephew, Travis (Jenny) Mueller; several very special nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Peter was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings – Margaret, Sally, Pearl, Judy and Arne. The family would like to offer a very special thank you to the entire staff at Bethany Homes and also to the staff at Ethos Hospice for the kind and loving care they provided.

  3. Dear AnnaLea & Family,
Sorry to hear about your loss of Pete. I recall his kind, easy going spirit. Pete was a fun person to be around. His story telling was entertaining. The tales of grade school mischief then how his sisters would tell on him for more discipline. Pete was a hardworking, good person. Rest In Peace Pete!!
