Abdul-Rahman Seuti Magba-Kamara, 58, of Fargo, ND lost his battle with stomach cancer and passed away on April 6th, 2013 at home, with his family by his side. Abdul was born June 29th, 1954 and raised in Freetown, Sierra Leone. After graduating preparatory school in Sierra Leone he travelled Africa as a music DJ. After leaving Africa in the early 1980’s, he travelled to the United States and attended college at MSU-Moorhead. It was while he was enrolled that he met his future wife, Jane A Kamara (Logan). They married, moved to West Covina, CA and had four children, Abdul, Princess, Aziz, and Latif. After a few years in West Covina, CA they moved to Devils Lake, ND where they spent the next 13 years. During their time in Devils Lake they started and ran Royal Ride Taxi Service. In 2003, Abdul and his family moved to Fargo, ND where Abdul finished up his BA in Political Science and nearly completed his MA in Sociology. They have remained in Fargo ever since. Abdul is survived by his wife: Jane Magba-Kamara of Fargo; Five sons and one daughter: Sheik (Alhaji) Magba-Kamara and his wife of Pujehun, Sierra Leone; Seuti Nsek Magba-Kamara of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Abdul-Rahman Magba-Kamara and his wife Bethany of Oakdale, MN; Princess Magba-Kamara of Fargo, ND; Aziz Magba-Kamara of Chicago, IL; Latif Magba-Kamara of Perth, Australia; Two brothers: Emkay Magba-Kamara of London; England; Alhaji Magba-Kamara of Maryland; Three sisters: Christiana MacFoy of Freetown, Sierra Leone; Princess of Amsterdam, Netherlands; Gracie Valcarcel of London, England; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Abdul loved philosophy, writing, politics, music, studying sociological data, and his family. One of his proudest accomplishments was writing and independently publishing two books. He was known for his kindness and compassion to strangers and those who had barely met and his love for politics. His family and friends will greatly miss him. Abdul was preceded in death by his parents: Abu B Magba-Kamara and Madam Cecilia B Jah; one brother and two sisters: Mohammed Magba-Kamara; Theresa Vandi; and Elizabeth Bindi.

    I saw in the Devils Lake Journal that Abdul
    passed away. Please accept my deepest sympathy for all the family members and friends.

    If anyone remembers, I was the Tae Kwon Do instructor in Devils Lake for Latif and Abdul Jr. and have fond memories of your family. So, I felt I should express my sympathy to all loved ones.
