Funeral Mass

Prayer Service:

Abew Obwonyo Awan Ajang was born in Fargo, North Dakota on September 19, 1997. As the second-born child out of five, he was known as the “mediator” who was always trying to understand all perspectives of situations before drawing a conclusion. He grew up to be very determined and “ahead of his time,” always thinking ahead and getting things done in his own unique way. Anyone could rely on him to keep things organized and completed with care, leaving everything easier for the next person.

Abew lived a life full of accomplishments to be proud of in a short amount of time. Since the beginning he always had exceptional grades in his years of school at West Fargo, and graduated from North Dakota State University in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. From there, he enrolled in a bootcamp for computer science in the spring of 2023. Upon completing the program in autumn, he landed a job offer to start in September of 2023 with JP Morgan/Chase Bank located in Wilmington, Delaware. He was able to pay all his dues and had taken care of all financial responsibilities without delay.

Abew will be cherished and missed dearly by family, relatives, and friends from all over the world. He will forever live in our memories for his humor, creative spirit, and intelligent mind. He left an impact that continues to inspire people to work hard and make goals happen, no matter the distance. Just like his favorite color yellow, he will be remembered for the light he brought to the people around him.

May his soul rest in peace. AMEN.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Abew brought me much joy without saying a word. He was always open to doing something new, or spontaneous, or face challenges without fear. His courage inspired me be bolder with my actions, and he will be missed.

  2. Abew was such a gentle yet bright young man. Always ready to take up a new task or help a fellow team member.
His smiling face is still a lingering memory in my mind. He will be deeply missed.

  3. I am deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague, Abew. His presence brought light and joy to our workplace, and his absence leaves a profound void. Abew was not only a dedicated professional but also a kind and compassionate friend to many of us. During this incredibly difficult time, my thoughts and heart are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his kindness and spirit.

  4. Abew was one of the first people who I worked with during my time at JPMorgan. He was a pleasure to work with, and even after I was done working directly with him, I kept in touch with him. He always had a huge smile on his face, and was probably the kindest person that I’ve worked with during my time at the firm. I will always remember the time we all went to Six Flags and he screamed like a maniac on all the roller coasters.

  5. As a bright and passionate young man he was a defender of his sibling with beautiful smile when greets and speaks, you will alway be in our hearts. You left too soon Nephew.

  6. My dear beloved brother Abew, as you ascend to be with the Lord, May your soul rest in peace. You will always be in our hearts 💕

  7. As we light this candle in your memory dear Abew, we honor the light you brought into our lives. Though your time here was far too short, your warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit touched everyone around you.

Your Aunt Tiza and the family

  8. I still remember meeting Abew for the first time. He had the gentleness of a midwestern and the determination like no other. He loved to play games at work and was overjoyed when he beat someone that was difficult to win against. He was always open to hang out or do something; earlier this year he went on his first roller coaster with us and a few other friends and was nervous to go on a few crazy ones, but he still did it and had a great time. I still hear his laugh and see his face; he will be so very missed. My heart goes out to his family, who I know he loved very much.

  9. Abew was a brother to me, someone that I could depend and rely on for anything growing up. His presence gave warmth to a cold world, and his outlook on life was a beautiful reminder to cherish the time we have together. I can still see his glowing smile and hear his laugh that would fill you with joy. The world lost a very bright, honest, and caring soul. I hope our paths intertwine in the next adventure. I’ll miss you brother, rest in peace.

  10. Your smile lit up the world. The world will never be as bright with you gone. Your memory will always be with us.
