Adam Gettel, 35, passed away in his home on Thursday, April 9th, 2020 with his daughter, Anja Kay Gettel, 23 months. Adam was born January 23, 1985 to Donald and Shirley Gettel in Fargo, ND. He grew up in rural Audubon, MN, around Little Cormorant Lake, and graduated from Lake Park/Audubon High School in 2003. From there, he moved to Ada, MN. After a while, he started working at American Crystal Sugar in Hillsboro, ND where he soon relocated. It was there that he met Kallyn Elena Votava. They were joined in marriage on 12-12-12. Although they were separated at the time of Adam’s passing, they shared a beautiful daughter. Adam was a man of many talents. He worked on airplanes at Sky Tractor, he co-started and was briefly part owner of Reamp'd Construction and also helped out local farmers and construction companies. Adam taught himself how to play a few musical instruments including the piano, guitar, and ukulele and loved to sing and play. He could build and repair anything with strings. Adam was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter Gettel and Marcella Gettel, and Erling Smith, and uncles, Jerry Smith, Eugene Smith, and David Gettel. Adam is survived by his parents, Don Gettel, Osage, MN, Shirley Gettel, Callaway, MN. Siblings Craig Larson, Fargo, ND, Rhonda Larson, Cedar Park, TX, Scott (Daisy) Gettel, Lake Park, MN and Mandy (Brent) Thompson, New York Mills, MN, Grandma, Ione Smith, Moorhead, MN, 7 nieces and 1 nephew, 2 great nephews and 1 great niece and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
