He was preceded in death by his father, Garfied, his brother David, grandparents Aagot and Amund Bosman and Oscar and Pearl Huus. The family would like to thank Dr. Snow, nurse Renae, Susan Hofland, Dr. Potluri and the staff at Roger Maris, Nardini Fire, Horace Mann Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, Madison Elementary and the OT PT staff of Fargo Public Schools and our family and friends for their wonderful kind and caring support and generosity. I first met Al in college at ND
SCS during the 1985-86 year. We were in the same electronics section. During a blizzard he would stay at my apartment so he could make it to class the next day. Years later in 2008, I came to work at Nardini and who did I see but Al. We had 6 good years working together and rehashing some college times.
Palmdale CAI was saddened to hear of Alan’s passing. None of you know me and perhaps Alan’s mother or brother may remember my name from Alan’s childhood. Many of my childhood memories include Alan and I would call him one of my best friends from my elementary school years while we lived in Grand Forks on 16th street down the block from Alan. We collected baseball cards together, made up a silly baseball game using marbles and our Twins cards. We got ready for the track meet by timing each other to see how fast we could run around in a circle, down the sidewalk from his driveway to the neighbor’s driveway, into the street and back to his driveway. Alan’s idea must have worked because I won some first place ribbons. We practiced our Morse code in my basement when we were in boy scouts together. We would jump the distance from one roof ramp to another as they sat on the ground in the field (when it was a field) by the K-Mart store behind the Sears store. To us they were as high as mountains and the gap was as wide as a canyon. And that was the place where Alan snuck away from us when some much older boys for whatever reason started picking on us. Alan didn’t leave us, he went and got my Dad. One silly memory I have was of Alan’s mom making sure I got my Black Cow sucker the morning I had to leave early from a sleepover (I think it was Alan’s birthday in 1967). We moved the next summer to Washington State. That silly memory no doubt reflects an attitude of caring that from the sounds of it most certainly influenced Alan and why my memories of Alan are that of a caring friend, and probably why everyone says he was a wonderful man. I never knew Alan in his adult life. Life gives us relationships and circumstances, like moving away, change those relationships, but nothing can ever take away the memories, the influence, the impact a relationship has on our life, even after many years. I will always remember the Alan from those years and really wrote these few memories as a way to extend my condolences to Alan’s family and to let them know Alan was always a “wonderful” person. Sorry to hear of Alans passing as he made a big impression on my life when he was my Lab Partner at ND
SSS in 1985. Alan will be in my heart forever as he was a great person I will never forget.
Dear Family of Alan Bosman,
I want to express my sincere sympathy for the loss of your loved one.
You can be sure that comfort and hope are found in the pages of the Bible.
In the Bible book of John 5: 21.we are told ” For just as the Father raises the dead up and makes them alive, so the Son also makes alive whomever he wants to” this is such a wonderful hope for us and to remind us that we can see our loved ones and friends again.
Take care of yourselves and keep those precious memories of your loved one close.
Sincerely Mrs Sandi Watkins

Our deepest sympathies to the Bosmans on the loss of Alan. Although we never got the opportunity to meet him, we have been fortunate to get to know and love Kirstie. He must have been a remarkable father to have helped raise such a kind, courageous young lady. We thank him for that. May beautiful memories and the tender mercies of the Father carry you all through these difficult days.
