Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Alan held a very special place in my heart. I had the privilege of visiting him every Tuesday at 4:30, and those visits quickly became something I looked forward to each week. Even though our conversations were simple, our time together was meaningful in a way that words can’t fully capture.

I am so grateful that our paths crossed. Alan will always hold a special place in my heart.

  2. I started working in Alan’s home as a DSP when I was 19 and quickly formed a friendship with Alan. I worked overnights and Alan would always stay up to help with any projects I was working on especially if there was furniture to put together.

One of my favorite memories of Alan was unlocking his mailbox for him, he really cherished any mail he received— even when it was just promotional content he would hold onto it and file it away in his room. That really stuck with me, the joy he felt because someone took the time to send him something was a reminder of how small actions can make a big impact.

I knew of a few restaurants that would send postcards for free so I started mailing him as often as I could; When I’d come in for work he’d show me the postcard and ask to go eat at the restaurant, he was a fan of JL beers and we enjoyed sending their ‘beer mail’ to his housemates when we went together.
I moved out of state in 2016, I kept the tradition of sending him postcards going; often starting the postcard with Al Heck Yeah!
He will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
