Alan B. Johnson, age 82, Fargo, died on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at ManorCare Health Services, Fargo, ND. Alan was born on April 6, 1926 in Pierpont, SD to Frank and Genevieve (Clark) Johnson. He graduated from Pierpont High School in 1944, attended Brookings University for one year, transferred to Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He was drafted into the Army in October of 1950 during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Japan. Upon his discharge in 1952, he moved to Minneapolis, MN to work for The John Deere Company in sales. He met his wife to be while working there. He was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Presby on November 27, 1954 in Minneapolis. Shortly after that the couple moved to Minot, ND and then Seattle, WA. They returned to Aberdeen, SD in 1957 and he worked for Brown County Implement in sales for John Deere. In 1964 the couple moved to Lisbon, ND where they owned The John Deer Dealership, Lisbon Motor Sales for 5 years. They left Lisbon in 1970 and moved to East Grand Forks, MN where Alan was an area service manager for The John Deere Company. They then moved to Manvel, ND in 1978. Alan retired from John Deere in 1982. Alan and his wife restored and sold antiques throughout the region and moved to Fargo in October of 1996 where they resided ever since. Alan enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with his beloved family. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, Fargo; children: Barrett Johnson, Fargo, ND, Karen (Raymond) Frohlich, Lori Gregoire; grandchildren: Tyler Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Dennis Frohlich, Matthew Frohlich, Leah Gregoire, Katie Gregoire, and Evan Gregoire. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. The Funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church, Fargo, ND. Interment will be at the Homer Cemetery in Pierpont, SD.
