Albert Skar

Albert Dewaine Skar Albert D. Skar, Fargo, ND, 73, died Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Albert D. Skar was born January 28, 1933 in Rugby, North Dakota, the son of Albert M. and Rose (Horvick) Skar. He grew up and attended school in Devils Lake. After his schooling he joined the United States Army, where he served in the States and later in Korea. Albert was wounded in 1952 and returned to Devils Lake. He married Darlene Martin on February 10, 1953 in Devils Lake, ND and the couple made their home in Fargo where they raised their children. Albert worked at the Welu Dental Laboratory for 32 years. He retired in 1985 and has since enjoyed traveling, and fishing. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo, the VFW, and DAV. Albert is survived by his wife, Darlene; 6 children, Albert C. (Bonnie) Skar, Mapleton, ND, Karen (Donald) Nelson, Detroit Lakes, MN, Pamela (Daniel) Bjerke, Bismarck, ND, Steven (Kim) Skar, West Fargo, ND, Mark DeMarce, Bismarck, ND, and Ruby Skar, Fargo, ND; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, one brother, Gilbert L. (Pamela) Skar, New Mexico, and 2 sisters, Loraine Smith, Great Falls, MT, and Carol (Donald) Kritzsky, Blaine, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Verna Smith; and his foster mother, Opal. Visitation: Thursday, August 31, 2006 5-9 p.m. ?
