Alice Letnes

Alice Letnes Hillsboro, North Dakota The Funeral Service for Alice Letnes will be held 1 PM Friday, October 17, 2003, at Our Savior??s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, North Dakota. Visitation will be on Thursday at Wildeman Funeral Home from 5 - 7 PM with a prayer service at 7PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Friday. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro. Alice died on Monday, October 13, 2003, at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home at the age of 92. Alice Rinerson was born on August 9, 1911, near Ada, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Albert and Belle (Sanden) Rinerson. Alice grew up in this area and attended country school. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Letnes on April 8, 1933. Together they made their home in Buxton, North Dakota, before moving to the Hillsboro area, and finally to the farm in 1949. They farmed for many years until retiring in 1966, when they moved into Hillsboro. After retirement, Lawrence and Alice traveled to Norway. Lawrence died on February 8, 1987. Alice moved to the Hillsboro Nursing Home in December of 1997. Alice was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Our Savior??s Lutheran Church, and a life member of the Sons of Norway. Alice is survived by her children, James Letnes of Hillsboro; Lorn (Melinda) Letnes of Mahnomen, Minnesota; and Kay (Robert) Hedger of Oak Park, Illinois; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; her children, Kenneth and Lois; her grandsons, Robert Letnes and Jay Anderson; her sisters, Mae, Beatrice, Verna, Ana, and Irene; and her brothers, John and Arnold.
