Aloys Walz

Aloys B. Walz, 76 of Fargo, formerly of Mahnomen, MN, died Saturday, May 20, 2006 in ManorCare Health Services, Fargo, after a 12 year battle with cancer. Aloys ?Al? Walz was born on August 10, 1929 in Mahnomen, MN to Ben and Elizabeth (Flottemesch) Walz. He married Lena Detling on June 22, 1953. Al worked as a carpenter in Fargo in the early 1950s and moved to Mahnomen to farm in 1957, retiring in 1991. Al was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Elmer, Christopher, Louis and Joseph and 1 sister, Lucille. Al is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lena of Fargo; daughter, Karen Walz of Fargo; sons, Eugene (Nancy) Walz of Lake Mills, IA, Steven (Corinna) Walz of Lockridge, IA; grandchildren, Adam Walz of Edina, MN, Nicole Walz of Edina, MN; step-grandchildren, Susan (Steve) Heppler of Boise, ID, Eric (Shelby) Bell of Austin, MN, Angie Hill of Fairfield, IA, Jeremiah Weigert of Fairfield, IA; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Anthony (Geri) Walz of Fargo; sisters, Katherine Mullin of Casper, WY, Eleanor Bjerken, of Mahnomen, MN, Agnes ?Thecla? Hjelmstad of Mills, WY and Florentine ?Tina? Rennaker of Buena Park, CA. Visitation: Tuesday, May 23 from 4-7 pm in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Prayer Service: Tuesday, May 23 at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Funeral Mass: Wednesday, May 24 at 4:30 pm in Church of the Nativity, Fargo. Burial: Thursday, May 25 at 10:30 am in St. Michael?s Catholic Cemetery, Mahnomen, MN. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
