Alpha Olson

Alpha L. Olson, 97, formerly of Kindred, died Monday, November 16, 2009, at Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND Alpha Lillian Haugen Olson was born October 2, 1912 at Wyndmere, ND to Ole and Ragna (Olsen) Haugen. She grew to womanhood and attended school and was confirmed at the First Lutheran Church at Enderlin, ND. She married Arnold Olson on November 16, 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN and they made their home in Kindred. Alpha worked as a cook at the Kindred Hotel and the Thompson’s Café for many years. She was a member of the Kindred Lutheran Church, the Kindred Legion Auxiliary, and the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW. Alpha is survived by a sister Verna Fleischfresser, Enderlin, ND and a brother Roy Haugen, Shelby, MT and a granddaughter Lindsey and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Roy (Skip), her husband Arnold, siblings Lloyd, Marvin, Art, Reuben, Clarice, Ella, Olga, Ruth and her parents, Ole and Ragna. The Funeral Service for Alpha will be Friday, November 20, 2009 at 2:00pm at the Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND.
