Alphonse “Al” Dukart, 82, Fargo peacefully passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo.
Born on March 8, 1941, in Richardton, North Dakota, Al was the beloved son of Joe and Mary Dukart. Growing up in Dickinson, North Dakota, he attended Model High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1959.
Al’s strong sense of duty led him to enlist in the United States Army on July 31, 1962, in service to his country. However, due to his father’s medical condition, he received a hardship discharge in order to support his family’s farm in Dickinson.
On September 7, 1965, Al joined in matrimony with his beloved wife, Marlene Bleth, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dickinson, North Dakota. Together, they created a beautiful and loving family.
Professionally, Al embarked on a successful career in the oil industry. He worked for Amoco Oil before making his mark as a proud business owner in Bismarck, North Dakota. Al founded his own company, Bismarck Oil Equipment, where he dedicated himself to providing quality service. He also worked for Tool Warehouse Inc in Fargo for over 20 years.
Despite his numerous retirements, Al continued to embrace his passion for work and only recently stepped back from his professional endeavors in June. With an unwavering spirit, he firmly believed in giving his all to whatever task lay before him, and he would often say, “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Beyond his dedicated work ethic, Al had a generous heart and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. He held a special place in his heart for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to support the life-saving work carried out by this remarkable institution.
Alphonse “Al” Dukart will forever be remembered for his strong character, his unwavering dedication to his family, and his invaluable contributions to the community he called home.
He will be deeply missed by his adoring wife, Marlene; his children, Dale Dukart, Becky Dukart, Brian Dukart; grandchildren, Channing and Trevor Decker; sister, Elaine Schmidt; brothers & sisters in law, Duane Bleth, Douglas (Deb) Bleth, Jan (William) Schneider, Shirleen Bleth, Louise Dukart, Jim Enia and all those who had the honor of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Elmer Dukart, father & mother-in-law, Joe and Martina Bleth, brothers & sisters in law, Ron Bleth, Allen Bleth and Diane Enia.
