Andrew Kowalski

Andrew D. Kowalski Jr., 77, Fargo passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Rosewood On Broadway with his loving family by his side.
Andrew was born to Andrew D. Sr., and Eva (Green) Kowalski on September 27, 1936 in Moorhead, MN. He graduated from Moorhead High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was discharged in 1960 and returned to Moorhead. He married Theresa Pfliger on June 3, 1963 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Hazen, ND. They made their home in Fargo where Andy worked for Northern Heating for 4 years. He was then employed with Bruce Heating in Moorhead until 1980. He spent one year building the Antelope Power Plant in Beulah, ND before starting his own business called “Andy’s Plumbing.” He retired in 1997. Andy spent most summer nights working as an usher for the Redhawks Association from 1997 until 2009. He also enjoyed woodworking—producing numerous pieces of furniture including grandfather clocks, hutches and coffee tables, including special holiday woodworks which he proudly displayed and gave to family members.
He is survived by his wife Theresa; children, Kevin (Debbie) Kowalski, Fargo, ND, Victoria (Perry) Birkholz, Fargo, ND, Andrea Ryba, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Jesse Ryba, Kayla Birkholz, Nicole Birkholz, Amber Ryba; siblings, Bernie Vannetta, Moorhead, MN, Charles (Anna Marie “Dolly”) Kowalski, Culver City, CA, Jerry Kowalski, Sioux Falls, SD, and Gregory (Sharon) Kowalski, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Justin Ryba; and sister, Frances Dewald.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Rosewood on Broadway or Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Antioch CAMy prayers go out to the whole family. My memories of Andy were of someone that thoroughly enjoyed life and did it with either a smile or a laugh. God just got himself a good one up there.

Very sorry to hear that Andy passed away, we served in the Mn National Guard together before he enlisted in the Navy and I still have the Company picture with him and I in it, also he was an excellent plumber for us until he retired and then I always saw him at the store at Northport.
