Angela Marie Jacobs, 94, passed away Saturday, December 17th, 2022, at St. Catherine North, Fargo, ND surrounded by her loving family.

Angela was born October 28th, 1928, in Fargo ND to Ralph and Bernadine (Trottier) Bertrand. Bernadine died when Angela was only nine years old. Ralph married Clementine Savageau, who became her loving mother. Angela attended elementary and middle school at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School, high school at Sacred Heart Academy of Fargo, ND and graduated from Inglewood High School, Inglewood, CA in 1946.

Angela married Willard C. Jacobs on December 27th, 1948. They were married for 62-years. Willard passed away on August 17th, 2011. Their first and only house was on 22nd St. in South Fargo where she lived for 71 years. Angela was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married.

Throughout her lifetime she worked at several businesses. She retired from Sweetheart Bakery after 22-years of service. During her retirement years, Angela enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, spending time at the lake with family, knitting, crocheting, a good game of cribbage, daily crossword puzzles, gardening, canning, walking her dog, lunch with girlfriends, and attending Silver Sneakers at the YMCA. Angela was an excellent cook, preparing delicious meals out of her tiny kitchen.

She is survived by her children; Peggy (DeWayne) Dunham, Detroit Lakes, MN; Kathryn (Roy) Chavez, Elephant Butte, NM; Susan (Rick) Skodje, Big Lake, MN; Marilyn (Jeff) Slavin, Las Vegas, NV; Michael Jacobs, Winona, MN; Thomas Jacobs, Detroit Lakes, MN; Barbara (Kevin Poppen) Jacobs, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren – Patrick, Dan, Danielle, Jake, Ryan, Candace; great-grandchildren – Samantha, Claire, Jonathon, Lily, Hugo, Keigo, and Yuzuki; and brother Lawrence (Martha) Bertrand.

Angela was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Ione Bertrand, brothers Leo, Eugene, Kenneth, and Jerome Bertrand, and grandsons Brian and Scott Spieker.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 A.M., Friday, December 23rd, 2022 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo at a later date. Services will be live streamed on the funeral home website.
