Angeline “Angie” Kiefer, 88, passed away March 1, 2026. Angie was born March 1, 1938, to John and Regina (Feist) Bitz in Strasburg, ND. She lived a life dedicated to the people around her and those she loved. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She met and married Leo Kiefer in 1950 in Braddock, ND, and they spent 67 years together. Angie was a natural caretaker, raising her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other children she had the joy of watching and playing with through the friendships she made over the years. Her family was truly the center of her life.

She also had a soft spot for all animals. Whether it was dogs, cats, or any animal, if she knew about them, she loved them. She even kept little stuffed animals around her that brought much joy.

Angie loved to spend time tending to her garden. She had a green thumb so remarkable it would put a florist to shame. She enjoyed many quiet moments in front of her fireplace and loud moments where she could fill a room with her laughter. Angie never turned down a shopping trip and was always known for having her nails done in Pompeii purple.

She will truly be missed for her ability to listen; her keen ears could hear a pin drop in the next room. Her loving presence will be remembered by her family and friends with great respect and love.

Angie is survived by her husband, Leo Kiefer; daughter, Pam Simonson; grandchildren, Hannah Simonson, Peter Simonson, and Grace Simonson; great grandchildren, Noah and Ronan Esancy; as well as her two brothers and two sisters.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Ron Kiefer and Julie Kiefer; and eight brothers and sisters.
