Ann Holm

ann holm

Ann Swenson was born in Roseau, MN, on July 27, 1955. Her tattoo was of a trinity sign. She said it can mean anything you want and to her it meant Birth, Life and Rebirth. Ironically she died at 7:27 in the morning at the age of 55. She was born 7/27/55. Now we know exactly what she meant. Have a happy life again Ann.

She lived in Roseau until moving in the 6th grade to New Hope, MN. From there it was to Winger, MN and graduating from high school at McIntosh, MN.  After high school she served in the US Army. She lived in Williston, ND, for 13 years and then in Fargo, where she received her degree as an adolescent addiction counselor and worked for the State until her passing.

One of her many loves was traveling. Her trips brought her to Ireland, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Her strong independence brought her much insight into the countries she traveled and the people she met along the way.

She loved having coffee in the room in her home she called her dream room. One of her favorite things to do was sit out there on a stormy night and listen to the thunder and watch the lightning.

You could see her creativity in the beautiful stained glass she would make. She found beauty in unusual pieces of driftwood or rocks which she would come across at her peaceful place which was Lake of the Woods in northern Minnesota.

She touched the lives of so many people she worked with, counseled with, and those that she just passed by. She was a champion of the forgotten and a fighter for the adolescence.

She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by, Jerry; her son, Jeremy (Stacey) Holm of Moorhead, MN; and their children, Kai, Bria, and Ella; , her son, Josh Holm of West Fargo, ND; and his children, Owen and Sophia; and her daughter, Ali (Rich) Erdmann of Fargo; and their children, Ruby and Reed. Also surviving are her parents, Forrest and Adeline Swenson of St. Croix Falls, WI; her sisters, Marsha (Russ) Kilponen of Phoenix, AZ; Janet (Tom Immormino)Crary of Brooklyn Park, MN; and Julie(Eric) Christensen of Centuria, WI; her sisters- in- law, Mary Swenson and Elaine Swenson, both of Roseau, MN; and her many friends, co-workers, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Swenson; her grandparents; and aunts and uncles.

  3. Badger MN
Ann was my 1st cousin. Her obituary is a beautiful reflection of her. I came across a verse which reminds me of her: Galatians 6:10 “While we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith”. The brevity of Ann’s life is a reminder to me to live out this verse like she did. May her memory be forever blessed. My deepest sympathy to her family.

  10. McIntosh MnI am one of the “winger girls”. Ann was my classmate, and she to was one of the winger girls. She was not only my classmate but also a kind of friend that you just knew she would be there for you if you needed her to be. She was someone I admired very much for her strong spirit, outgoing ways, able to make friends so easily. She will be missed by many, I am sure.
I am sorry I had lost contact with her since we graduated in 1973 together. I think that is the last time I saw her…
For some reason, only God knew, she was on my mind all last week. So I did what I could do and that was to pray for her.
    In loving memory of Ann,
    Judi Carlson, Gieseke

Holm and Swenson families. Great saddness fills my heart for all of you. Ann could leave a smile on your heart and face long after talking to her. I lived behind the Swenson family while in Winger. Ann and I spent many hours at each others house. I remember Ann Piercing my ears at my house and Adeline came running over thinking we were being attacked because we were both screaming . I am not sure who screamed the loudest her or me. Go in peace Ann and know that we all have your family in our hearts and prayers.
