Anna Olson, age 79, of Moorhead, MN died on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at her daughter?s home. Anna was born to Oscar and Anna (Yttri) Olson in rural Parker?s Prairie, MN. Anna attended Parker?s Prairie, MN country school. The family moved to Washington. She moved in with her sister, Claire, to help care for Claire?s family. She married William Avery in December of 1945 in Washington. They moved to Portsmouth, Virginia and then to San Diego, CA. They also lived in Hawaii for 1 year and Kentucky for 1 year. She came home to Parker?s Prairie, MN and managed a farm in the Almora, MN area. She eventually moved to Detroit Lakes, MN and worked for a dentist. She moved to a farmstead in the Lake Park, MN area and worked at the Park Caf? as a waitress. She married Gerhard Thune in May of 1966 in Moorhead, MN. In 1969 she started work at St. Mary?s Hospital, Detroit Lakes, MN as a nurse?s aid and then at Sunnyside Nursing Home, Lake Park, MN, retiring in 1994 at the age of 65. In 1996 she came to live in the Fargo/Moorhead area. She worked very hard throughout her life and cleaned homes as a second job. She was a very talented seamstress and cook. She had a strong faith in God and loved her children more than anything else in this world. The family would like to thank Miranda and Joni of Hospice of the Red River Valley who helped take special care of their mother. She is survived by her children: Sheri Kellenberger, Moorhead, MN?her children: Lori (Colton , Justus and Blair), Todd (Jordan), Brent, Alex, and Chase; John Avery (Peggy) Fergus Falls, MN?their children: Shannon (Tyler), Matt; Keith Avery (Gayle) Perham, MN?and their children: Jason (Gabe, Nick, Ashley, Madeline), Angie (Katy, Hannah, Abigail, Derek), Jacob; Steven Avery (Debbie) Deer Creek, MN?and their children: Bryan and Adam; Carol Johnson (Kermit) Davenport, ND?and their children: Seth (Aurora Rose) Jared; two sisters: Rose Schwartz (Bruce) Detroit Lakes, MN and Marilyn Olson, Nelson, MN and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2007 in the Davenport Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
