Anne Grinaker, 95, formerly of Kindred, ND, passed away October 4th, 2007 at the Evergreens Assisted Living facility in Fargo. Anne (Ehlers) Grinaker was born July 27th, 1912 near Barney, ND to George and Louise (McMonagle) Ehlers and was one of eight siblings. She attended the Antelope Consolidated School in Richland County and received her teaching certificate from Valley City Teacher?s College in 1932. She also attended Mayville State University and Moorhead State University. She taught school in Center and Viking Townships in Richland County during the depression years. In 1940, she married Floyd Grinaker of rural Kindred where they operated the family farm. She resumed her teaching career in 1960 at Hickson, ND for two years and then in Kindred, ND until her retirement in 1973. She and Floyd moved in Fargo where they purchased a home in 1987. He died in 1988. In July of 2006 she entered The Evergreens in Fargo. Anne was a member of Norman Lutheran Church, rural Kindred, where she was active in Sunday school and numerous church activities. She attended Bible Study Fellowship in Fargo for six years and volunteered at Bethany Homes for several years. She is survived by a daughter, Elaine (Carlton) Elker, Burlington, ND; and a son, Larry (Kathy) Grinaker, Fargo; a sister, Edna Dahlman, Wahpeton; three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or the Alzheimer?s Association. Funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Norman Lutheran Church, rural Kindred, ND. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, October 8, 2007 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at Kindred Cemetery, Kindred, ND. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND.
