Anton H. (Tony) Knoll 96 years old from Fargo, North Dakota passed into the loving arms of God on July 19th 2019 surrounded by family and Bethany caregivers.

Tony was born January 5, 1923 in St Anthony, ND. His parents were Henry and Anna Knoll. He married the love of his life, Martha Stamaris on June 5, 1944 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mandan, ND where they made their home for 28 years and later moved to Fargo, ND. They were married for 72 years and raised five children.

Tony was employed by the Mandan Beverage, Dunahay Distributing, and Northwest Beverage as a salesman truck driver. He retired after 40 years on May 30, 1985. He was raised Catholic and became a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus, Teamsters Union, Elks, and Eagles.

Together, Tony and Martha socialized with friends and family, dancing, playing card, picnics, and traveling around the United States including three trips to Hawaii. They spent many years enjoying their cabin on Lake Ida welcoming everyone with open arms.
Tony was a man of high values and integrity with a strong work ethic and a focus on faith, family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife Martha Knoll and son Randall Knoll. Tony is survived by his, daughter Clare Francis, Rio Rancho, NM, daughter Jane (Dave) Fick, Fargo, ND, son Henry (Brenda) Knoll, West Fargo, ND, daughter Lou (Tom) Wetzel, Dent, MN, 11 grandchildren to include. Toni Phillips (John), Jody Myers (Shawn), Leah Anderst (Rob Peyrebrune), Zach Knoll (Kassie), Mike Fick (Althea), Jake Knoll, Katrina Hoffelt (Pete), Sabrina Jochum (Andrew), Ericka Wambach (Troy), Danielle Woodard (Bjorn), Landon Knoll and 19 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Willow Lane caregivers and staff who brought so much joy to Tony located at Bethany Retirement Living, 201 S University Dr, Fargo, ND 58103.

  3. As a teenager in 1960 my family moved from Montana to Mandan, ND. My parents bought The Knoll’s house. They had moved to a newer home.

    I was a classmate and good friend of Randy (MHS ‘63) .
