Guestbook

  1. Art (Ardel) and Barb have been long time wonderful neighbors of ours. They would do anything for us and our kids. Art knew his work so well as an engineer at the telephone company. If I had an electronic problem around the house or on my car, I would call Art. He would come over with his electrical meter(s) and the problem would be resolved. You couldn’t stump Art. He also helped us out with carpentry projects too.

Art loved fishing and I was fortunate to fish with him a number of times at Lake Oahe.. I loved his Canadian fishing stories.
He was a soft, very kind hearted man. Never a complainer. We will miss Art,

  2. Our Father was the most wonderful “father” in the world! I affectionately called him “Papa.”

He was kind, loving, supportive and most of all he loved helping us kids with fixing or building things. He could fix anything from TVs, cars, household items and more. He was our go-to person when we needed help or guidance with everyday decisions. We had a lot of fun family times fishing, water skiing, eating his great barbeque, watching movies and more. I can’t imagine life without you.

Rest in Peace my Beloved Papa.

    Your loving daughter, Janie

  3. Art and I and buddies had many great fishing trips together back in the day. We always caught our share! He was a delight to be with, I miss his stories and infectious laugh. Rest in peace old friend.

  4. Sincere Sympathy for the loss of your husband and Dad! He lived a long life!

May memories of the happy times help you thru the sad – sad times still to come!

Your mom (Barb) was so helpful with my mom (Ester) last years. We were neighbors kiddie corner from you!
Will never forget how comforting that was.

Barb Shaw Tuell and the Shaw family!

  5. Art was a wonderful, generous, kind-hearted man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Art LOVED to help others, especially his children, and especially with anything involving telephone, electrical, and carpentry. He rescued more than a few strays in his neighborhood because he cared about animals, too. And he loved to fish, and loved to grill. Family gatherings at the Knodel’s were always full of excellent food and company! We will miss Art’s generosity and soft spoken kindness!

  6. Art did my telephone install and repair in a number of different offices for me and we always had interesting conversations. He was an excellent technician and a good man and we always enjoyed each other’s company. I will do a gift in his memory to Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

  7. Grandpa was always there for me and was very proud when I bought my house. He helped me with many home improvement carpentry and electrical projects. I could always count on him to have a solution for any repair or project that came up. We also walked the Fargo Marathon 5k together a few years ago. Grandpa even wanted to start the race by running out of the starting gate! He was the sweetest, kindest soul and never hesitated to help others. A truly wonderful Grandpa. Miss you, and love you always Grandpa Knodel. — Love Mia

  8. I will miss my wonderful Dad very much. He always gave me hope with his warm hugs and kind words. He made great grilled hamburgers, and made me peanut and butter saltine crackers when I was little that I still love to eat today. My Dad was great at fixing things for me all the time. He put up my electrical fencing and lights everywhere! He always had a smile on his face when we finished. My Dad gave hope and love to rescue dogs, Nelson and Lady, and a lost cat named Blackie. I LOVE you Dad and will miss you so much. Love, your daughter, Susie

  9. My father-in law Art Knodel was a wonderful man. We worked on many projects together, including home repair and improvement projects which were always fun and enjoyable. I always looked forward to our many family gatherings. Art also loved camping, boating and fishing, especially fishing. I have great memories fishing with Art. He was an extremely serious fisherman and taught me a great deal. Men who have been central to my life have been my paternal grandfather, my Dad, and my father-in-law Art Knodel. I will miss him very much. Much love from Randy.

  10. Art was a great telephone company co-worker and also a friend. We met on Friday mornings for breakfast many years after retirement.

  11. I extend my sympathies and prayers to you. I was pastor at Holy Spirit Church in north Fargo for 11 years. We called upon Art many times when we had problems with our phones. He would come and help us out without hesitation. I was so impressed at his knowledge of the complicated phone system we had. He was great to visit with as well. Our staff was very fond of him. He was a great person. Blessings to you as family.
