Ashley Haines

ashley haines

Our Angel, Ashley Rae Haines was called home to the Lord on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2011. Ashley was born August 24, 1988 in Fargo, N.D. to Candis (Anderson) Haines, and William H. Haines III. Ashley was baptized, confirmed, and was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Hillsboro, N.D.

She lived and was educated in Hillsboro. Ashley excelled in academics and athletics while in high school. She is well known for her athletic accomplishments breaking many school records. She was a member of the 2007 State Volleyball Championship Team. Ashley earned individual recognition as runner-up for Outstanding Senior Athlete.  After graduation in May 2007, she attended Bismarck State College on an athletic scholarship, where she excelled in basketball and volleyball and earned a degree in Medical Assisting in 2009. Ashley continued to pursue her passion for academics and volleyball under an athletic scholarship at Mayville State University, where she was currently a student. While in college she continued to excel in sports and received many awards and acknowledgements in basketball and volleyball.

Most importantly Ashley loved all the people in her life, especially her mom, dad, and her sister Billie Jo with whom she created many happy memories and shared many wonderful hours. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. The very special love of her life is Shane Vettel.  Ashley loved the outdoors. She grew up on the water of Red Willow Lake Resort where she was an avid water-skier, swimmer, and hunter. Ashley thoroughly enjoyed meeting and helping people.

Our Angel was with us for such a short time and will be with us always in our hearts. Ashley made a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Ashley is survived by her mother, Candis Haines of Hillsboro; father, William H. Haines III of Mayville; sister Billie Jo and her husband Aaron Soholt of Mayville; grandmothers Vernis Haines of Binford and Donna Anderson of Grand Forks. Godparents Larry (Dean) and Barb Anderson of Thompson. She also leaves many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Ashley will be forever in our hearts.
