Resided in:
Fargo, North Dakota
It is with incredible sadness and grief that we announce the untimely passing of Austin Zane Nez, who left us on August 15, 2024, in Fargo, North Dakota. For friends not too familiar with who Austin is, let me share this: he was born to Audrey Tsinnie-Kollars of Minnesota and the late Nathaniel G. Nez of New Mexico. His maternal grandparents are Darlene and the late Orville Z. Tsinnie paternal grandparents are the late Martha Nez and the late Howard Leo Nez. Austin is the only son to his parents and has 6 sisters, Alexanderia, Crystal, Kristian, Alyssa, Shayna and the late Jocelyn.
Austin was raised partially in New Mexico and in Minnesota then eventually fell in love with Fargo, North Dakota and a young lady there, so after high school Austin made Fargo his home state until his passing. Austin was 31 years old this year, was single and without children at the time of his passing.
Austin is survived by his mother Audrey Tsinnie-Kollars; step-father, Michael Kollars; sisters, Shayna, Alyssa, Kristian, Crystal & Alexanderia; brothers, Marvin Redhouse & Chebon Bear; nieces, Gianna, Stella, Dahlia, Madisyn & Katelyn; nephew Alexander; maternal grand mother Darlene Tsinnie; friends, and extended family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
It has been difficult for the family to get everything set up but with much courage everyone has pitched in as they travelled from all directions to get to Fargo & Minneapolis. All of us were so appreciative for technology and social media. It is nice to communicate very quickly. We have managed to plan service and cremation for this week and will be dividing his ashes to be buried next to his father in New Mexico and the other half of him will reside in Minnesota to be close to the siblings that reside there. As a family we all agreed donations would be greatly appreciated and more specific details will be shared via family and friends that are willing to share information on their pages. Thank you all in advance- from all of us.

Nyree and I were shocked to hear of this tragic loss. While we got a chance to meet him through our classes, we both got to talk with him quite a bit after when he’d call and we’d just talk. He was such a caring soul and had such a positive energy. We consider it a blessing to have met him and will certainly miss him.
Austin was a beautiful and gentle soul, who will be greatly missed. Each time I saw him, he greeted me with a kind smile and a hug. I was deeply honored to be his friend. May he walk on nimble feet with the Great Spirit.
