Barbara Berglund, 70, 1406 64th Avenue South, Fargo, died peacefully with her family by her side Monday, January 26, 2004, in Villa Maria from a long battle with cancer. Barbara Jean Fritz was born March 14, 1933 in Cummings, ND, the daughter of Frank and Celestine (Klontz) Fritz. Barb was one of 15 children. She graduated from Mount Saint Benedict High School in Crookston, MN. Shortly after graduation she moved to Fargo, where she met and married Homer (Bud) Berglund. They were married August 8, 1953, in Fargo, and resided in South Fargo where they raised their six children. Barb was a very hard worker, and had many jobs over her lifetime. Some of her better known accomplishments was the home cookin? at the Korner Kafe in Kindred, ND, and the Red River Valley Fairgrounds in West Fargo, ND, where she employed many family and friends. Any spare moments were spent at Turtle Lake surrounded by her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Patsy), Lyme, CT, Eddy (Barb), Fargo, Jeff (Vicki), Appleton, WI, and Mark, Fargo; her daughters, Julie (Bill) Miller, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Jane (Craig) Croaker, East Grand Forks, MN; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. She is also survived by four brothers, Sylvester (Lola) Fritz, Fargo, Matthew (Dolores) Fritz, Fargo, Lawrence (Judy) Fritz, Fargo, and John (Sharon) Fritz, Fargo; four sisters, Madelyn Stringer, West Fargo, Ann Condor, Fargo, and Eileen (Ted) Warren, West Fargo, and Delores Skaarer, Billings, Montana. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Sts. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church, Fargo. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-7 p.m. in Sts. Anne and Joachim Church, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held in the church one hour prior to the funeral on Friday. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
