Barry James Eyestone, age 62, of Fargo, ND passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a long illness on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Barry fought courageously to enjoy every moment of life, and he will be remembered as a very caring individual with a huge heart.
Barry was born on March 16, 1962, in Alexandria, MN to James Frederick Eyestone and Coreen Mabel Eyestone (Johnson), and he was the fourth son of James and Coreen. Barry was raised near Wolverton, MN by his mother Coreen and stepfather Frank Brown; he attended Elementary School in Wolverton, MN and High School in Breckenridge, MN and Fargo, ND.
Barry served two years in the North Dakota Army National Guard following High School. He became a talented craftsman and took great pride in being an excellent carpenter and all-around handyman.
Barry was the ultimate “snack hound” and always looked forward to his two sisters (Dorie and Marlene) keeping him well stocked with his favorites of peanut butter cookies and chocolate Hershey bars. He loved his morning coffee and afternoons watching “The Big Bang Theory” and Marvel movies.
Barry is survived by two sons, Brady (Celeste) of St Paul, MN, and Gavin of Mobridge, SD; granddaughter, Ivy of St. Paul, MN; sister, Dorie (Dean) Koppelman of Fargo, ND; brothers, Dennis (Mei) Eyestone of West Fargo, ND, Paul Eyestone of Plymouth, MN; sister, Marlene Brown of Fargo, ND; and uncle, Larry (Coleen) Johnson of Edina, MN; along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a great-great niece.
Barry is preceded in death by a son, Justin Barry Eyestone; father, James Frederick Eyestone; mother, Coreen Mabel Brown (Johnson); brother, Dale Eyestone; and sisters, Darlyne Eyestone and Marlys Anderson (Brown).
There will be a graveside service for Barry at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo, ND at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024. Burial will take place following the service. A celebration of Barry’s life will take place at the Rotary Club Shelter in Lindenwood Park, Fargo, ND immediately following the burial and service.
The family would like to extend sincere appreciation for the wonderful care provided by the staff of The Meadows Nursing Home and Hospice of the Red River Valley. The care they provided helped to make Barry’s last days more peaceful and meaningful, and for this the family is very grateful.
