Benita Eider
May 31, 1956 ~ September 8, 2019
Benita Rae (Else) Eider passed away at Sanford palliative care on Sunday, September 8, from complications of heart surgery and her numerous health issues.
Born to Raymond and Bernice (Salthammer) Else on May 31, 1956, she graduated from Fargo South High in 1974.
Benita married Michael Eider on August 25, 1979, at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, Their son, David was born November 17, 1983. Michael died September 1992, when the family was living in Grand Forks.
The flood of 1997, displaced Benita and David and they moved to Fargo where Benita continued to raise David into the fine man he is today.
Through all her physical challenges, Benita always just accepted what life dealt her with no self-pity, simply dealing with one challenge at a time.
Benita will be best remembered for her generous heart, love of family and sense of humor. Benita leaves behind her son, David, brothers Jeff (Darlene) of Moorhead, MN, Brad, Fargo, special niece Rochelle Else, Moorhead, MN, Michael’s family and numerous nieces and nephews.
Benita is preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Michael, parents, Raymond and Bernice Else and in-laws, Don and Jean Eider.
Service will be held Thursday, September 19, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Fargo, with visitation one hour prior.
