Bernadine Gallagher

Bernadine (Bernie) Marie Gallagher, 85, died Saturday April 21st, 2007 at Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo. She was born May 16, 1921 in Detroit Lakes, one of ten children of Bernard and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Riewer. On October 3rd 1945 she married Lester C. Gallagher of Callaway. During their 42 year marriage they co-owned and operated Gallagher SuperValue in Frazee for a few years before settling in Fargo to raise their family. Bernie enjoyed growing flowers. When she and Les lived in their south Fargo home, Bernie?s flowers were the pride of the neighborhood. She also loved bowling and had been an active member of many leagues into her eighties. She also enjoyed being a Senior Companion. Above all she loved spending time with children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband Lester, her parents, three sisters, and one daughter. She is survived by three daughters and two sons, Sandra (David) Brakke, Moorhead, Jane Gallagher, Council Bluffs, IA, Patricia (Nathan) Berger, Maplewood, MN, William (Pam) Gallagher, Fargo, Shawn (Paula Jo) Gallagher, Casselton; eleven grandchildren, Candace (Will), Jenna (Rick), Shane, Shannon, Ben (Erin), Shelly, Max (Danielle), Travis, Nicholas, Kate, and Erik and nine great-grandchildren. Bernie also is survived by four brothers and two sisters. Visitation: Tuesday, April 24 from 4-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Prayer Service: Tuesday at 7:00 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Funeral: Wednesday, April 25 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo. Interment: St Mary?s Cemetery, Callaway, MN. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
