Bertha Burbeck

bertha burbeck
It is with profound sorrow that I spread the word that my mother, Bertha Burbeck, passed from this existence Saturday, July 11, 2020. She is survived by her 3 children, Lynn Williamson, Anita Burbeck, and Kevin Burbeck; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her dry sense of humor, gracious heart and willing spirit to help. She had a green thumb that would make any plant grow and thrive. She was a fabulous Rosemaler, and Rosemaling teacher. Her students will remember her gentle and encouraging way of teaching. She was courageous, adventurous, and stubborn. Often creating her own rules for living. She rode a motorcycle when women did not do such things. She wasn't afraid to take on any project that presented itself, and had a voracious appetite to learn new things.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. We remember her incredible artistic talent and how much she loved company! Much Love, Bertha’s niece Peggy and her husband Allan

  2. I remember when she and Bud would come to Esko on their motorcycles!! I as a child thought they were beyond “cool”! I’m so sorry, hard to lose your mom. Your cousin Colleen Soyring (Anderson)

  3. When I was young I remember Aunt Bertha and Uncle Bud on motorcycles! I knew no one else who rode a motorcycle! They were very exotic. We use to see Aunt Berta at Grandma’s house and always had fun with the cousins. I am so sorry for your loss. Much love, Denice Soyring Higman

  4. I have good memories of all the years that Bert was a member of the Red River Finns. She loaned us her Sami dresses for the Scandinavian Hjemkomst Festivals. May you feel comforted by the presence of God, family, and friends as you grieve your loss.
