Betty Hanson

Betty Hanson West Fargo, North Dakota Betty passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at her home in West Fargo at the age of 76. Betty Jean Smith was born on February 2, 1933, the daughter of John W. and Lillian (Ostby) Smith, in Fargo, ND. She grew up in Fargo and received her education. Betty was united in marriage to Gordon O. Hanson on September 8, 1962 in Dilworth, MN. After their marriage they made their home in Fargo for many years. Betty began working at Kresge’s in Minneapolis and later in Fargo and also worked at the Eagles in Fargo for over 23 years. She last worked for the Multiple Sclerosis Society Gaming at Rick’s Bar in Fargo. Betty was active in the Fargo Eagles and was past president of the Eagles Auxiliary from 1973 – 1974. They moved to West Fargo in 2006 and Gordon passed away on February 6, 2008. She is survived by her children, Richard Smith of Boise, ID; Debra Braunberger of Fargo, ND; Vicki (Timothy) Clark of West Fargo, ND; and Michael (LaDonna) Hanson of West Fargo, ND; her grandchildren, Richard, Chad, Keri, Danny, Katie, Jessalyn, Brandon, Matthew, Amanda, Rachel, and Justin; and great grandchildren, Sadie, Gabrielle, Emily, Ashley, Bailey, and Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, and her siblings.
