Beverly Ann Gould, deeply loved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away Wednesday, January 22nd surrounded lovingly by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Beverly Ann was born on July 28th, 1948, to Ernest and Viola (Hanson) Brager. After graduating high school in Dilworth, MN she spent most of her life in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Bev and Gary’s love story began when they were just 17 years old. Gary would pick her up from school in his car, and though life took them on separate paths after high school, their connection remained unbreakable. Fate brought them back together when Bev, with determination and love, wrote Gary a letter that reignited their bond. They were engaged soon after and married on September 2nd, 1967, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN, and have been married for just over 57 years.
Together, Bev and Gary built a beautiful life in Fargo, ND, raising six children: Jerrene, Paulette, Gerald, Christopher, Brant, and Sharon. Bev wasn’t just a mother to her own children but became the neighborhood mom, always ready with open arms, a warm meal, and endless love for the kids who gathered in her home. Known for her incredible cooking, Bev’s hotdish, chili, and soups could feed an army, often topped off with a homemade cake. Food was her love language, and through it, she nurtured everyone who crossed her threshold.
Bev’s love for her children knew no bounds. She enthusiastically participated in their lives, whether paddling a canoe down a river, joining in Cub Scouts, sitting in on sewing classes, or cheering them on in their passions. Her laughter was infectious, and her joy for life lifted the spirits of everyone around her.
A gifted musician, Bev played the piano beautifully, passing her love of music on to her children. Her home was often filled with the sounds of hymns, Christmas carols, and classical melodies, as she played and sang with her children and grandchildren gathered around her piano. Her talent and love for music created cherished memories that will live on in their hearts.
Bev was a devoted woman of faith. She began attending Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND, in 1998, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and volunteered her time and talents. Her faith guided her life, and she often reminded her family that they were in her prayers every day.
Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were Bev’s pride and joy. She treasured her time with them, from trips to McDonald’s and the mall to sleepovers filled with arts and crafts. She always had a bowl of Lindt chocolates or candy ready to share and found immense joy in making her grandbabies feel special.
Bev will be remembered for her radiant smile, her beautiful laugh, and her warm, tight hugs with the signature pats on the back. Her voice, singing hymns and songs alongside her children, will echo in our hearts forever. And we’ll always cherish the memory of her standing on the deck, calling out down the alley, “I love you!” one last time.
Beverly is survived by her husband Gary (Gerald), children Jerrene (Shane) Bowman, Paulette (Jamie) Cotney, Gerald (Chione) Gould, Christopher Gould, Brant (Ebaney) Gould, and Sharon (Wyatt) Akin. She is survived by her grandchildren Bryce Bowman and Brittany Axtman, Chelsey (Josh) Kuznia, Taylor Cotney, Cassidy Cotney, Evelyn Gould, Kianna (Michael) Brunner-Gould, Ian Gould, Xander Gould, and Emmett Akin along with great-grandchildren Chase, Peyton, Amaura, and Finley. She is also survived by her Mother Viola Cofer, and brothers David (Debra) Brager, Daniel Brager, and James Cofer, along many nieces and nephews. Bev was preceded in death by her father Ernest Brager and brother Wayne Brager.
Her love and light will remain in our hearts forever.

She will be greatly missed. I enjoyed spending time with her and the family growing up in Fargo.
So very sorry for your loss! She was a wonderful lady!!
I was so blessed to meet Bev through My Bethlehem Church Family! We always sat only one pew apart and one Sunday way back when, we just started “chatting”! Then We talked every Sunday and I learned about her life and Family and She learned about mine! Bev was a very Special Lady in my heart! We have laughed together and cried together and just had a very special friendship and I will cherish our relationship and memories together! I visited her in the hospital and was always amazed by how strong and loving she was no matter what she was going thru! I loved her smile and laugh and her fighting spirit! Fly High Bev! Please watch over me from The Spirit World Bev! Sending Love Hugs and Prayers to Gary, Her Children, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Families 💜🙏😇
