Bee Meyer, age 88, died on September 6, 2023, in Hillsboro, ND. Beverly Jane Arnegard was born on Dec. 3, 1934, to Lloyd and Lorraine (Wilson) Arnegard in Fargo, ND.

Bee was the middle sibling to her sisters, Shirley and Barbara. They grew up on a farm in Bloomfield Township. Bee attended Bloomfield Country School. Her classmates, Buddy Jacobson and Billy Klemetson, became her lifelong friends. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1952. Soon she began working at the Hillsboro Clinic for Dr. McLean.

She met her husband, Ralph Meyer, through a group of friends. One day as the friends were getting into his car, Ralph said, ‘Bee you’re riding up front next to me.’ She knew she had been chosen. They were married on November 12, 1955, in Hillsboro, N.D.

Ralph and Bee raised their family of four children, Kevin, Kristi, Kyle, and Kay on a farm south of Hillsboro. Together they raised dairy cattle, wheat, and eventually sugar beets in the 1970s. Bee became the sugar beet truck driver for the family. It was quite an accomplishment for a woman with high anxiety! They had many local farm friends who visited often, and the coffee pot was always on.

Bee enjoyed daily journaling, watching Burro sports, and keeping up with her favorite TV shows. She was known for her baked beans, salads, apple crisp, roast beef dinners, and making lefse. She was a devoted mother who had daily phone calls with her adult children. Bee spent many happy hours babysitting her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending her summers with her daughter, Kay. Bee was especially dedicated to the care and needs of their son, Kevin, who is blind with special needs. She was involved in St. John Church LWML and the Arnegard Cemetery Board.

Bee was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ralph (2008), and niece Lisa Trieglaff Jahnke (2014).

Survivors include her children, Kevin Meyer, Fargo, ND, Kristi (Joel) Auck, Fergus Falls, MN, Kyle (Sandra) Meyer, Hillsboro, ND, and Kay Meyer, Hutchinson, MN. Grandchildren Brandon (Alyssa) Auck, Andrew (Stephanie) Auck, Katrina (Steve) Fligge, Rachel Meyer, Thomas Meyer and four great grandchildren, Briellah, Aleigha, Lauren, and Luke. Additional survivors include her sisters, Shirley (Sy) Phillippi of White Bear Lake, MN and Barbara (Bob) Trieglaff of Fargo, ND. She is also survived by numerous cousins in the Hillsboro area.

God bless the memory of Bee Meyer.
