Boni Ellis-Greene
September 7, 1949 ~ October 20, 2022
Born in:
Davenport, ND
Resided in:
Shakopee, MN
Boni Ellis Greene, 73, of Shakopee, MN passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Hennepin County Medical Center. She was
surrounded by her family.
Bonita Rae Graff was born Sept. 7th, 1949 to Ray & Doris Graff in Davenport, ND. On Oct 23, 1970, Boni married Richard Ellis. They made their home in Fargo. They went on to have two children, Heather & Blaine. Boni worked for many years at Meritcare in the telecommunications department. She made many lifelong friendships and enjoyed traveling for work. In addition to her work, Boni spent much of her time supporting her kids in their activities. She was well known at the hockey rink and swimming pool, providing snacks, encouragement, and often a cowbell. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church and had a strong faith in God. She valued her friendships, most especially the “6-pack” of hockey moms that continued until the day she passed.
On Oct 24, 2010, Boni married Wayne Greene in a small ceremony with family present. Boni & Wayne enjoyed traveling, socializing, and spending time with friends and family. They left Fargo and purchased a lake home in Alexandria, MN, and a winter home in Maricopa AZ. Many fond memories were made with family and friends at these homes. Boni & Wayne eventually settled in Shakopee, MN to be closer to their family, including their 3 grandsons. Boni enjoyed all things related to family. She spent many hours at the baseball field watching her grandsons play ball, and occasionally giving the umpires some friendly advice. Boni was the life of any party and always had a good story to tell. She enjoyed spoiling her family with unique gifts, homemade treats, and the largest Christmas stockings (also knowns as lawn garbage bags). We called it spoiling, she called it love.
Boni was kind, generous and she loved unconditionally. She will be missed by many.
Boni is survived by her husband, Wayne; two children, Heather Ellis (Eric) Schroeder of Shakopee, Blaine Ellis of Shakopee; three grandchildren, Brady, Carson, and Nolan; and Oshie, the most loved dog. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials can be sent to Shakopee Youth Baseball Association, 13139 Preserve Ct, Savage MN 55378. Donations will be used to purchase an engraved bench to be placed at a Shakopee baseball stadium for all to enjoy.

We were all so saddened to hear of Boni’s passing. My family was so fortuante to have beenFargo neighbors to Boni and Wayne, and were certainly the recipients of Boni and Waynes generosity and kindness.

Boni being the life of the party is an understatement. We had many many good times traveling for Meritcare. My heart goes out to her family and friends. You were her friend before you ever knew it. ❤️
So shocked to hear about Boni’s passing …..What a ray of sunshine she was! She was one of my first babysitters out in Davenport..Doris and Ray were great friends of my parents Carl and Wilma ,back in the day..Great memories of them and growing up in a small town. I guess God was looking for a new “Special” Angel so called Boni home. I’m sure Doris and Ray welcomed her with open arms!!Prayers for you at this difficult time!! Peace to you all……Paul Heuer

My husband’s family was close friends with the Grafs in Davenport so I met Boni in the early 70s. She was so easy to befriend!! Whenever our paths crossed throughout the years, I always enjoyed time spent with her. I wish that we could have shared more of those times. Boni will truly be missed in this world. Our sincere condolences to her family. Rest in peace. Dear Boni.
I know she loved her family fiercely, and what a great family you are!
I look forward to seeing you all Saturday. God bless you all and hold you in the palm of his hands during this tough, tough time.
Hugs,
Karon Lysne
