Bonnie Anderson

Bonnie passed away on September 11, 2022, at the Hillsboro Medical Center Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 81.

Bonnie Louise Petrie was born on April 14, 1941, the daughter of Walter and Clara (Beckman) Petrie, in Fargo, North Dakota. She grew up in Blanchard, North Dakota and graduated from Hillsboro High School.

Bonnie was united in marriage to James “Duddy” Anderson on June 17, 1960, and built their life in Hillsboro. She made her career at Traill County Social Services as an Eligibility Specialist, retiring in 1997.
Bonnie loved spending time at the lakes, playing cards and doing puzzles with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Bonnie is survived by her children – Jodi (Thomas) Nelson of Wilmar, Minnesota; Michael (Karen) Anderson of St. Anthony, Minnesota; and Cindi (Andy) Nordick of Fargo, North Dakota; her grandchildren – Joshua (Kaylen) Nelson, Casey (Ashley) Nelson, Amanda (Tyler) Barton, Bradley (Allyson) Nordick, Samuel Anderson and Elliot Anderson; and her great-grandchildren – Layla and Kallie Baton, and Olivia Nordick. Also surviving are her sister, Connie Schroeder of Dilworth, Minnesota.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, James Anderson; her parents, Walter and Clara; and her brother, Robert Petrie.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1 PM Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro – with a gathering one hour prior
BURIAL: Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro
