Bonnie passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, at the age of 66, with her husband by her side.
Bonnie Mae Guttormson was born on December 20, 1956, the daughter of Arthur and Melba (Bjornhei) Guttormson of Fort Ransom, ND. She attended grade school in Fort Ransom and graduated from Verona High School. Bonnie attended college in Valley City and worked at Arkota for awhile. She also worked various jobs in Valley City, Lisbon, Carrington, and Fort Ransom.
Bonnie was a talented artist – working with wood, wire, concrete and rock. She could see art in a tree stump or an angel in a boulder. Her work is spread throughout the area.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Roy Buttke on September 30, 1988, at his family farm. They resided in Nome, ND.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her children – Emily Guttormson, Adam Buttke and Fred Buttke; her parents, Arthur and Melba; her brother, Brian Guttormson; and her two sisters – Sharon Lobsinger and Lois Mennis.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Roy of Nome, ND; her brothers – Dennis (Wanda) Guttormson of Jamestown, ND; Larry (Angela) Guttormson of Canby, MN; David Guttormson of Lisbon, ND; and John (Tina) Guttormson of Fort Ranson, ND; and her sisters – Jackie (Harley Fink) of Forman, ND; Suzan Jacobson of Valley City, ND; and Molly (Daniel Mahar) of Hastings, ND.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM Friday, July 21, 2023, at Standing Rock Lutheran Church in Fort Ransom, ND – with a visitation one hour prior
BURIAL: Standing Rock Lutheran Church Cemetery
