Boyd Coleman Buer
February 9, 1956 ~ July 22, 2024
Boyd Coleman Buer, 68, of West Fargo, ND, left this world on July 22, 2024. He was born on February 9, 1954, to Coleman and Marjorie (Smith) Buer in Stanley, ND. and was raised in the village of Berwick. Boyd graduated from Towner High School in 1974 and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp, where he served proudly, entering the national guard following his discharge. His four years of service in the Marines took him to Hawaii and then abroad to Thailand and Southeast Asia, which gave him a world view and reinforced his love for North Dakota. Boyd reentered the workforce in the oil fields of Western ND, where he found love and married Twila in 1985. Together they had two children: Coleman and Nicole.
Boyd was a man of few words, unless those words were about one of his passions. You could see the spark in his eye when you asked about his Harley and heard the excitement in his voice when reliving his many escapades. Many of those involved the Rough-Riders Motorcycle Club, of which he was a proud member. He truly came to life if he was matching wits about music or talking about routes taken on a road trip, he traveled much of the country and could recount the many highways and byways of the land he loved. Those who were privileged to experience this understood the man and his heart and will miss him beyond words.
