Bradley Dean Henschel, 67, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and under the compassionate care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Born on June 7, 1957, in Devils Lake, North Dakota, Brad was the son of Elmer and Lavina (Sand) Henschel. He graduated from Devils Lake High School in 1975 before moving to Fargo.
Brad married Denise Grant on October 12, 1985 at Bonanzaville in West Fargo, ND. They made their home in North Fargo.
Brad was a passionate fan of the NDSU Bison Football team, and he always looked forward to tailgating and sharing good times with friends and family.
He especially enjoyed the time he spent at the lake with his family, whether it was grilling up a feast, relaxing on the deck, or enjoying a cold Busch Light.
His grandchildren were very important to him and any time spent with them he cherished. He always enjoyed being able to make them laugh. Brad was a homebody but was a good sport and was always up for any adventure Denise would “drag” him to.
For 47 years, he dedicated himself to his work as a Commercial Roofing Foreman at Pierce-Lee Roofing, where he was respected for his hard work and reliability.
Brad is survived by his beloved wife, Denise; his kids, Addie (Ryan) Nohr, West Fargo, ND, Callie (Flynn Rico-Johnson), Washington D.C., and Elizabeth (Matt) Faller, Fargo, ND; as well as his five grandchildren, Brea Rose, Audra Lee, Mya Belle, Henry Donald, and Macie Mae. He is also survived by his brother Duane (Janice) Henschel, Devils Lake, ND sisters Patti (Bryan) Smith, Horace, ND and Sandy Henschel, Fargo, ND, mother-in-law, Norma Grant, Fargo, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Shorty, half-brothers Terry and Bob, and sister-in-law Michelle.

Denise and family – May God wrap you all with his love, care and peace during this very difficult time. Know you are loved and prayed for. May the wonderful stories and memories you made together provide comfort. I’m so sorry for your loss.
Legends never die. Brad was one of the saltiest roofers I have ever met. Unafraid to venture out into a North Dakota winter even in his last days. I only new him for a few years but in that short time I built a great respect for him few have ever imparted on me. He was truely among the last of those who made this country great. A true stalwart of the old guard. May he rest in peace.
Our sympathies to you all. He was at the ball games cheering on his kids with all of us,Spartan fans. He was the father of a very nice family. So sorry for your loss
My condolences and I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed. He was a person that truly made this world a better place. Rest in peace Bradley

My prayers are with you and your family
Deepest condolences to you Denise and your family, may you find comfort in all the great memories of Brad.
20 years ago I was lucky to help my cousin, Brad, replace a roof on my sister’s house/garage over a weekend. I really enjoyed getting to help him (hopefully it didn’t make it harder for him), and thought I was pretty lucky to get to help my sister and learn some construction skills at the same time. Now after a little more life experience I realize how lucky we all were to have Brad in our lives to lend a hand doing the things he usually did all week to provide for his family. A lot of people look for a break on the weekend and he took it as an opportunity to help/serve family and friends. I’m still learning from that weekend, Brad.
So sorry for your family loss.
