Born in: Moorhead, MN
Resided in: Fargo, ND

Bruce Pronovost, 72, of Fargo, ND, died December 15, 2023, at the VA Medical Center, Fargo with family by his side.

Bruce was born on July 15th, 1951 to Gerald and Lois (Cole) Pronovost in Moorhead, MN. He attended and graduated school in Moorhead. Bruce enjoyed the summers at the lake fishing and water skiing.

He enlisted into the US Army, serving from 1971 – 1979.

After the service, Bruce worked various jobs until he discovered his liking of driving semi. As an over-the-road trucker, he traveled to all corners of the US and parts in between. An avid reader, he acquired several books over the years. Bruce retired (reluctantly) in 2014 due to health concerns.

Bruce was a devoted MN Twins and MN Vikings fan. But most of all he loved his family, and was so very fond of all his nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and would routinely bring back gifts for the kids from his cross-country travels.

In 2023, Bruce moved to the ND Veterans Home in Lisbon ND, where he resided until his passing.

Bruce is survived by his sisters Rhonda (Richard) Mix, Anoka, MN, and Karen (Karl) Palloch, Colfax, ND; nieces and nephews: Jerry Mix, Cody Mix, Jennifer (Scott) Unger, Cole Palloch, and Katie Palloch; great-nieces and nephews: Micah, McKenna, Addison, Aidan, Gavin, and Quinn, and many other loving friends and relatives.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; and his two good buddies: cousins Jerry Cole and Paul Cole.

A visitation will be held at 9am with a funeral service at 10am on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo. Interment will be held at the Fargo National Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their immense gratitude to Bruce’s many wonderful caregivers, including his longtime caregiver, Erika, who is such an amazing blessing to the entire family, and to the staff at the ND Veterans Home, and the Fargo VA Medical Center, for their great care and comfort.
