Carl W. Wildeman Hillsboro, North Dakota Carl passed away on Monday, December 26, 2005, at the Hillsboro Medical Center Hospital at the age of 81. Carl was born on December 24, 1924, the son of Carl and Madeline (Bohy) Wildeman, in Garfield, New Jersey. He grew up in this area and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1942. After graduation Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII where he was stationed in Madison, Wisconsin. Upon discharge he returned to New Jersey where he attended and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University and the American Academy of Mortuary Science in 1947. He moved to North Dakota and was united in marriage to Lois A. Halverson on June 30, 1947. He joined their family business. Carl and Lois purchased the furniture and funeral home businesses in 1960 and at that time moved to the new funeral home. They owned and operated the Halverson?Wildeman funeral home and Halverson furniture store for many years, being joined by their sons. Lois passed away on November 6, 1983. Carl continued to be very active in the businesses retiring from the furniture store in 1991, and from the funeral home in 1997. Carl was united in marriage to Lois C. Dale on November 18, 1988. They made their home in Hillsboro and spent many wonderful years together. They enjoyed spending time traveling and visiting relatives, and camping at the lake. Carl was a very active community member for many years. He was one of the organizers and founders of the Hillsboro Golf Course and the Hillsboro Kiwanis, past president of the Hillsboro Hospital Board, past member of the Park Board, and long time member of Our Savior?s Lutheran Church. He also served the community through providing the ambulance service for many years. Carl was also active in the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association where he served as president in 1969. During his office, Carl was the organizer of the first North Dakota Funeral Directors Golf Tournament, which continues today. Carl was a devoted family man, a strong community supporter, and a great friend to many. He loved his family dearly, loved flying and golf, and spending time running his trains. Carl is survived by his loving wife, Lois of Hillsboro; his children, Tracy (Terrie) Wildeman of Sierra Vista, Arizona ? and their children, Daniel, Benjamin, and Caitlin; Chad (Sheila) Wildeman of Hillsboro ? and their children, Angie, Andrew and Stacey; Paula (John) Yankus of Montevideo, Minnesota ? and their children, Angela and Andrea; Mark (Judy) Dale of San Marcus, California ? and their children, Zachary, Jennifer, and Keith; Lon Dale of Rapid City, South Dakota ? and his daughter, Malina; Melanie (Brad) Chambers of Colorado Springs, Colorado ? and their children, Paul, Joshua, Krist, Alyssa, Elijah, and Alex; and Douglas (Teri) Dale of Hillsboro ? and their children, Travis, Jessica, and Aaron. His 9 great grandchildren also survive him. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Carl Jr.; his wife, Lois A.; his sister, Elsie Kerle; and grandson, Chad Dale. VISITATION: 4-7PM Wednesday at the Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro ? and also one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Thursday.
