She was born on December 26, 1925, the daughter of William M. and Hattie E. (Sathre) Bowen in Hope, ND. She grew up in Hope, graduating high school in 1943 as valedictorian of her class. She went to Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and then Fairview Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, graduating in 1947. She joined the US Cadet Nurse Corps in 1944.

Carol was active with Bob in the Lions Club, the Reserve Officers Association, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She belonged to the Hope, ND American Legion Auxiliary.
Carol’s greatest joy was visiting her grandchildren with her husband, Bob. In Tampa, she enjoyed going out for coffee, playing bingo and attending Christ the King Catholic Church events.

Diane, thinking of you and reflecting on fond memories of Aunt Carol from childhood. She was always so kind and I loved her laugh. With deepest sympathy, Kenny
