Carol Geigle, 82, of Fargo, ND passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Sanford Health in
Fargo.

Carol Jeanne Vossler was born April 12, 1940, to Erwin and June Pearl (Gluhm) Vossler in Elgin,
ND. She grew up in Elgin where her parents owned and operated a general store. She attended
elementary and high school in Elgin, graduating in 1958. In August of that year, she started a
clerical training program at Bismarck Junior College. She later transferred to Dickinson State
College and earned her teacher’s certificate. Carol began her first job teaching third grade at
Lincoln Elementary School in Jamestown.

On June 26, 1966, Carol married Donald D. Geigle in Medina. They made their home in
Napoleon. Carol taught fourth grade in Napoleon for a few years before becoming a
stay-at-home mom to raise three children. She kept active with gardening and canning as well
as with the United Methodist Women and Roaring ‘20s Homemakers groups and volunteering
with the American Cancer Society. Carol also went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in teaching
with a specialization in Early Childhood Education from the University of Mary in Bismarck.

Don and Carol moved to Fargo in 1993 after Don retired. They managed the Amrock apartment
buildings for nine years. Don and Carol attended Calvary United Methodist Church. Carol
enjoyed living in Fargo where she was closer to her children and grandchildren with whom she
loved playing cards and board games.

Carol is survived by her husband, Don; three children, Melisa (Patrick) Smet of Omaha, Mark
(Kristi) Geigle of Barnesville, and Melanie (Brad) Mohr of Fargo; and eight grandchildren, Ian,
Nathan, and Nolan Smet, Lakin, Grayson, and Kaden Geigle, and Avery and Mason Mohr. She
is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials preferred to Calvary Fargo or the American Cancer Society.
